I just hung up from a woman who wanted to appeal the denial of her hardship transfer application. Her reason for the request: her 15 year old daughter is going to need (insert surgery here) for (insert serious medical problem here). It also turns out the 15 year old kid is about to have a baby...and after talking to her, I'm not sure if it is her first or not. My emotional reaction is to be disgusted with the mother, and that the child might as well be dead. A kid at 15? Not the first? I mean medical problems might just be an attempt by the gene pool to reclaim her to the drain at this point. I'm sure the mother is in great pain, and it's unclear how complacent she was in her daughter's mistakes in life...but...
and congress is trying to pass an act to keep that 13 year vegetable alive in Florida. Oi.

Let's look at the current phenomenon of couples of different races breeding and how features are changing because of the mixing of the gene pool and then theorize about whether or not average height is increasing or big noses are disappearing and stuff like that. This line of thought refers to large groups of a species, not individuals. Truthfully, I think that's a more accurate use of Darwin's theory.

I feel bad for the kid's babies. What kind of life are THEY going to have?? What lessons will they learn?
I wish more people looked at the bigger picture...

I know it's not fair on the grandparents, but they won't be -that- old yet unless they waited til they were old old before they had their kids, and as long as the kid lives at home and tries to learn how to be responsible, then it won't be as bad. If the kid runs off to be a professional slut, then good riddance. The baby will definately be better off and everyone can be happy about that.
Sometimes you just can't control your kids. Some of them really are that fucked up.

Still enjoying your quote about "Pilsbury dough virgin" by the way.

The pledging group was also less likely to use condoms during their first sexual experience or get tested for STDs, the researchers found.

Date: 2005-03-19 09:36 pm (UTC)Or something else that would poke fun at those who want to keep this prisoner alive in a tortured vegatative state. Euthenasia is a wonderfun thing. Hope is too, but when the odds of winning the lotto exceed that of a miracle cure for some brain dead victim, and playing the lotto is "morally wrong" or whatever...
Think of the people on the waiting list who could use that bed shes taking. People who have a chance at recovery. Is it fair to them?
(boy I sound cold and heartless don't I)
