(no subject)
Feb. 12th, 2005 07:35 amThis meme really caught on: "I want everyone who reads this to ask me 2 questions. Any 2, no matter how personal, dirty, private, or random. I have to answer them honestly. In turn, you don't have to do a damn thing."
Here's my version:
Everyone who reads this already knows that if they wanted to ask me something, anything, no matter how personal, dirty, private, or random, they already could through email, on the phone, or...god forbid...in person. I reveal so much naturally you probably have no questions. If you didn't care enough about the personal subject to ask someone in person, it would be strange to ask about it in public print. Such a display could only mean that the person posing the question was more intersted in seeing public disclosure than knowing the answer to the question. As it is, I generally answer questions honestly, directly, and in great detail. In return, 'askers' don't have to do a thing, but they typically do as most personal disclosures are either reciprocated or result in great discomfort. People who reveal personal information w/o prompting similarly make people uncomfortable. Thanks for sharing. Truth or dare is just so sophomore year of college.
You know what? I'm just no LJ fun. Spoilsport!
(I'm playing - please don't misinterpret this as a rant or personal attack. I kinda like the memes sometimes, but I have a biologically wired need to mock).
