K is for Kompressor
Jul. 31st, 2003 08:09 amI ducked outside since the weather was so nice. I sat on a bench in front of

K is for me, biatch.
I have been listening to Kompressor, for after dancing to the cookie monster song I'm really into the K is for Kompressor song. K. Is for Kompressor. I remember car people running on about this car. I saw another on the way home, and another at the gym. I look at them when they're silver for they look like my car. I'm being followed by K.
Ok, the car is cute. I stared at it as I'm about to sell a house and could pay for the damn thing in cash if I were irresponsible...I mean wanted to. It's almost pretty...but it looks like my honda civic, only with 2 seats. Hmm, more expensive, less room, looks the same. Sign me up.
I look it up on the web. K. Is for Kompressor. More sights about the industrial band than the car - not a good sign. It's 30k, cheaper than expected. It had bad reviews for it's choppy engine and poor manual transmission. How do you have a poor 6-speed? It gets 20 mpg. It has a new feature for the IDIOTS who drive it that PREVENTS THE ENGINE FROM REVVING OVER 4K WITH THE CLUTCH IN. Did I mention sign me up? Sure wouldn't want to rev the engine for fast starts, no not me!
Ok, it costs my car (paid for next month) times two. It will cost more to insure, and will get me more attention from car jockeys when I hit clubs. It has less room. It gets worse mileage. Sign me the fuck up.
This pointless shallow post brought to you by the german-usa alliance.
CAR GEEKS:
On a similar geeky note, I remember driving an american car with a 4 cyl engine / turbo. It got great mileage when I was responsible, but since I was like 17 I was more familiar with the whirring-whistle of the turbo. This engine was perfect, responsible and miserly normally but able to vroom on-call. Do they still make these types of things?

Of course they still make such things. VW Passat, for example.

Date: 2003-07-31 06:06 am (UTC)Turbo engines have really been used more and more these days cause they're such an efficient way to get power without making the car too heavy. The WRX has one as well. And while the mercedes you were looking at doesn't have a turbo, it does have a supercharger, which is just as good.

Turbo's are nice. When I was 21 I bought a 93 Rx7 twin turbo (the quickest car I have ever owned) I have so many fond memories of that car. too bad I couldnt afford to pay $25 in gas every other day, and I would allways have to change the oil ever 1,000 miles or so. Owned it up until 2 years ago... By the time I sold it, I had modified just about every inch on that car. I put well over 7 grand in it just on performance parts...
ahhhhh the memories.....
