Progressive appears to be half what I'm paying for insurance with Geico (for condo-owner, umbrella, and auto).
Anyone have experience, good or bad, with Progressive insurance?

I had Progressive from 1996-2004, they were expensive, but reliable and the only ones who would take me with my driving record at the time ;P

I had GEICO from 2004-2008 and didn't like them much.

I had USAA from 1990-1996 and from 2008 to present and love them.

Make it 3 - been with USAA all my life, also have my mortgage, IRA, and some other investments with their banking side. They're not the absolute cheapest (just as their interest rate returns aren't the absolute best) but the insignificance of the difference in financials is IMO outweighed by my never having had a complaint about their service.

I tried USAA but they report they only insure military and their family. They referred me to their "partner," Progressive!?

Huh, I thought that was one of the things "everyone knows". Yeah, USAA is awesome, but it's only for military and their families.

Progressive will take ANYbody, but they're a reliable company. Just make sure that the coverage they're quoting you on is the same as what you already have. (And make sure you get the Replacement Endorsement, or whatever they call it on your condo policy. That means you get a new tv if your's is stolen, instead of the depreciated value of your tv.)

USAA won't let me use them because neither I nor my family are military. Their website referred me to Progressive!?
