Unghhhhhh when I decided to sleep with the windows open, because the weather is so nice and even the air quality cooperated, I hadn't counted on something catching a squirrel at 2am. Nature is a horrible horrible beast.

I don't know about raccoons, but one time there were cats having sex outside of my window, and it sounded like one of them was dying. I found out later that apparently this is because male cats have spikes on their penises which tear at the vaginal wall of the female cat when they pull out.
