The only thing more annoying that waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep is knowing that my urge to post about this annoyance isn't unusual on my f'list. I want to figure out what is causing this though...it's either eating or working out late in the evening, or both.

Hey, who is the cute girl in your icon!?

Do more foodie outings fight off the dolroms, pray tell?

Hey, who is the cute girl in your icon!?

It's me! And thank you!

Do more foodie outings fight off the dolroms, pray tell?

I would say definitely, yes. It's a proven fact that food and friends really help ward them off.

I find that if I don't get up every day at the same time I want to sleep in then I don't get sleep the next night. I also have to rest before I go to bed. I don't know if that will work for you, but it seems to let me sleep more. Of course last night I think I got 3 hours of sleep total. That's because I had ideas for my books that I didn't bother to write down though.

hehe, I never exercise late or eat late. My brain just won't shut down, and it keeps me up. I've had sleep issues since I was a baby though.

When I do sleep, I'm quite dangerous. I fell down the stairs sleep walking in Africa at age 5 and busted my head open. And worse.....a few years ago I beat up my bf in bed. Gave him a bloody nose :)

I also cycle through REM much faster than most, each cycle is supposed to be 2 hours - you need the 4 full cycles, hence the standard 8 hours. I can cycle all 4 in 6 hours *once* I actual do sleep. It's just the getting to sleep that's impossible sometimes.

I should go to one of those sleep studies places and be their guinea pig.

oh, forgot to add....you've just had a major life change. You have free time now & that void could certainly be disturbing your sleep. Eh, just a thought.

hehe, well you should be. Once a routine is established (especially one as vigorous as yours was), and you stray dramatically from it....your mind and body tends to freak out. I would normally do x,y,z....but I don't have x,y,z, anymore...so wtf d I do now?

Give yourself some time to readjust and fill that void with other rewarding tings.
