Yeah I suck, what of it?
Feb. 10th, 2003 07:59 amI've been sick for a week now, and I'm still sick. If this keeps up I may have to wind up doing a barrage of tests to find out why I keep getting sick the same way, over and over, without ever recovering unless I take antibiotics. I would be less offended if my damn HMO didn't keep asking if I was 'immune compromised." Gee asshole, you've got my file in front of you, you tested me HIV and Hep negative over and over again - what the fuck do you think!?
I'm cranky. I am very into my physical health, and not having it pisses me off and now I'm quite stir-crazy. Work is busy, so I'm really not doing much on-line at all. I'm not blowing anyone off, I just feel crappy.

Date: 2003-02-10 07:21 am (UTC)See if you can get a doctor to do an X-ray (or possibly a CAT scan/MRI) of your head -- I discovered when I was 13, after I'd been sick for a *year* (constant low-grade cough and wheezing -- weirdly enough, congestion/sinus headache wasn't one of my symptoms), that my sinuses weren't draining, and that I had what looked like cobwebs in there on the X-ray . . . yuck!!
They installed drains and cleaned out the mess that was in there, and I've had *one* sinus infection since, and it's been 14 years. Might not be such a bad thing to look into.
You should also talk to an ENT (possibly at the same time) about getting your adenoids/tonsils checked out -- I had a friend who had similar problems and it turned out that her tonsils had a chronic infection that had actually progressed to abscess level -- since getting them taken out, she's been fine!

Date: 2003-02-10 07:45 am (UTC)Oh, the last time I saw the ENT they discovered my tonsils were...icky...and removed them. That was about a year ago October.
I miss being healthy - I was for so many years...

Re: empathy
Date: 2003-02-10 11:16 am (UTC)It really does sound as though we were exposed to the same thing. I'm trying to figure out if I'm being foolish by suffering longer instead of just taking the damn drugs. I have fully medicated myself, which I rarely do, from day 1 to PREVENT it turning into a sinus infection. It seems I've failed.
Which is irresponsible, the doctor or not seeing the doctor. Cripes.

Date: 2003-02-10 12:21 pm (UTC)See the odd thing is that I don't get the fever. Perhaps that's my good health kicking in, keeping me only slightly crappy! Ok, colored crap AND a fever - stop fucking around and get some drugs. You're almost doing the right thing, for many peopel take the damn things too much...but you're going in the opposite direction. Stop being sick!
