I've been sick for a week now, and I'm still sick. If this keeps up I may have to wind up doing a barrage of tests to find out why I keep getting sick the same way, over and over, without ever recovering unless I take antibiotics. I would be less offended if my damn HMO didn't keep asking if I was 'immune compromised." Gee asshole, you've got my file in front of you, you tested me HIV and Hep negative over and over again - what the fuck do you think!?

I'm cranky. I am very into my physical health, and not having it pisses me off and now I'm quite stir-crazy. Work is busy, so I'm really not doing much on-line at all. I'm not blowing anyone off, I just feel crappy.

You could be allergic to dust mites or mold or something and thats why you keep getting sick.

I haven't been allergy tested, despite asking my HMO (they say there is no point to that...more money saved I guess) but anithistimines don't seem to work either. To be real specific, the place that gets 'clogged' and feels sinus pain is the exact spot the skinhead guy broke my nose. I'm worried that despite the ENT's assesment, that there is damage that sets me up for this abuse. I may pay for a nose job out of pocket someday.

I'm glad I'm missed. I miss seeing people too! I'm sick of saying "I'd love to, but I feel and sound awful..."

:/

See if you can get a doctor to do an X-ray (or possibly a CAT scan/MRI) of your head -- I discovered when I was 13, after I'd been sick for a *year* (constant low-grade cough and wheezing -- weirdly enough, congestion/sinus headache wasn't one of my symptoms), that my sinuses weren't draining, and that I had what looked like cobwebs in there on the X-ray . . . yuck!!

They installed drains and cleaned out the mess that was in there, and I've had *one* sinus infection since, and it's been 14 years. Might not be such a bad thing to look into.

You should also talk to an ENT (possibly at the same time) about getting your adenoids/tonsils checked out -- I had a friend who had similar problems and it turned out that her tonsils had a chronic infection that had actually progressed to abscess level -- since getting them taken out, she's been fine!

What you experienced is what I'm thinking of!

Oh, the last time I saw the ENT they discovered my tonsils were...icky...and removed them. That was about a year ago October.

I miss being healthy - I was for so many years...

i've been sick since that Saturday night i ran in to you at [?] as well. i've tried drinking lots of water, vitamins, big large grapefruits and resting/sleeping fully. robitussin, benadryl, cough drops, tylonel, you name it and still minimal success. i don't want to go see a doctor even tho i'm blowing up yellow chunks. i simply don't understand why my body can't fight this own, after a week its still hard core, i hate antibiotics!

can we commisserate grumblings?

Yes, but I got sick Monday. You made me sick! Aigh!
It really does sound as though we were exposed to the same thing. I'm trying to figure out if I'm being foolish by suffering longer instead of just taking the damn drugs. I have fully medicated myself, which I rarely do, from day 1 to PREVENT it turning into a sinus infection. It seems I've failed.

Which is irresponsible, the doctor or not seeing the doctor. Cripes.

We talked (bitched?) for all of about ten minutes! Besides, Brian S. got sick that night too and a few other people. So i think there was some evil vex on that specific location -- it didn't hit me hard until Sunday night so I am feeling you. Thing is, I just started with tea and vitamins and I would figure that would be enough but the damn virus just engulfed me and its claws are all entangled. grip. grip. at least i've lost a little bit more weight in the process ;)

Holy shit!

I didn't remember talking about it at all...I just remember you wanting to hit Mid. You know, Sunday night is exactly when I noticed it - wow! It might well have been something there - that is damn eerie. I've done tons of fluids and taken decongestants the whole time with the intention of NOT getting a sinus infection. I have lost weight - ironic since I got off my diet. Turns out when I don't hit the gym my appetite is much smaller.

Mustard colored snot again today - I gave up and called the damn doctors. I don't want to be sick for another weekend.

we didn't talk about *it*... we just talked for about ten minutes. i did end up going to midnight, then coming back right after that conversation. i had to do comparative study, y'know ;> thing is... i was on the atkins diet for about three weeks before i got sick. i was taking the appropriate vitamins in conjunction with my change of diet and i wonder if that at all has affected my system's vulnerability.

yeah, i drift from clear to light yellow/green. my temperature bounces from 99.1 to 100.2 and i'm so sick of tea, i feel like i'm growing leaves on my tongue!

Ok so I didn't forget (I do that a lot, so I was worried...born blonde)

See the odd thing is that I don't get the fever. Perhaps that's my good health kicking in, keeping me only slightly crappy! Ok, colored crap AND a fever - stop fucking around and get some drugs. You're almost doing the right thing, for many peopel take the damn things too much...but you're going in the opposite direction. Stop being sick!

i know you take good care of yourself, andi may be right, although it could still be some sort of an allergy - keep pressing your doctors to figure it out
