Mar. 26th, 2004 10:17 amThe BMW girl is catholic. I found this out because I pointed out how funny it was that she was eating a giant kit-kat bar with a diet coke (she's very fit, and I do essentially the same thing). She said she was eating it because she had given up Twix for lent. Mocking from all directions ensued.

Date: 2004-03-26 07:56 am (UTC)My wife is Catholic and I haven't been able to get a clear answer on this one, but, all I hear about lent are "negative" devotions in the sense of giving something up. How about positive devotions in the sense of giving something like volunteering at a homeless shelter, etc. I guess one could make the argument that you are giving up time, etc., though.
Are you Catholic? What are your thoughts?
