So my coworker, the one who has complained multiple times to multiple people that I'm treated special, was on the call when I briefed the private contractor counsel hired to help us with the backlog. He had cases in process which were taken away because he reported he accepted another employment offer (which he since rescinded, and they're allowing him to stay). This is the same fellow I noticed wasn't working this weekend when he was signed in, and did I mention he was seen in the grocery store during working hours (can't prove that).

So I briefed opposing counsel on my case, which was just...related. I had no obligation to do this, but as we settled I thought my knowledge of facts and parties involved could help with their case. Turns out not only did he not talk to them at all before I initiated contact (that must be too much like work) but

He had not deposed the Complainant. At all. OGC recently gave training/counsel that nothing is more important in hearing preparation than deposing the Complainant, a big duh. When asked why, he stated he did not have TIME. Later he also admitted he hadn't requested an extension for discovery. Ever.

I have been working crazy hours for...he has not responded to any communications about the case...it all comes together now...BEST of all, I didn't expose him - the hired counsel asked the questions and he had no way out of it. Did I mention our 2nd line supervisor was on the call? I just hope he caught what that meant - my other coworker was on the call and caught it, and shared my rage and disgust (I'm interpreting).

But will the chain of command address it?

Wow, just fucking wow.
