and Janna showing me videos of girls doing olympic lifts, I was re-inspired to try some olympic lifts. I'm still fighting with my hurt butt.

I started strongish, by which I mean I wasn't too hung over from elektroshok the night before and caramel covered waffles and 3 cups of coffee was substituting for health and energy. I warned up slow. I was extra friendly as I was wearing all black, my CHOOSE DEATH shirt that sometimes scares people, and I was close to needing a shower than usual. That less than ideal start aside, I started strong. That stupid pain in my butt appeared, but by pushing my legs out, squeezing both sides of my ass, and stubbornly going really low, somehow I was able to get the heavier weights without pain. I got to my weight, and got 245 for 8. That's close to my old max which is uplifting.

Then I revisited the bumper plates - first time in months. An azn dude was on them, but said he'd be off in a few minutes. I did a no-weight warmup, and I only got one set of leg curls when he told me he was done, and nicely helped me rack my tiny weights. I did a set of power cleans at 95 no problem that I could tell. Then I jumped to 135. I got 5 on my first group, then 3 on the next - with a fail. I think for the first time I - didn't drop the weight - but let's say put the weight down with much more speed than I normally allow as my wrist was not in the proper position. I tried my next set and just failed, when the azn dude (who was still there, working out with another dude) gave me a form note - he suggested I wasn't pushing my body under the bar as much as I might. I tried to focus on that, and then was able to get another 3.

I'm excited about the olympic lifts. They scare the shit out of me, but they're also the most fun lifts. Sure you can't do stupid weight like a machine or a deadlift, but it's hilarious and crazy to be tossing around giant bars and plates.

I should be writing again soon, but this filled my mind with a huge rush of endorphins and I'm not terribly interested in anything else.

Mirror reminds me I'm kinda fat for the warm weather, but I'm much more interested in picking up metal than what my stomach looks like naked. One of the girls I noticed had a chub too, but in her lifts you saw her abs flex and it was lovely - I hope I look the same. I did buy some sexier underwear today - from target, so it's ghettogaybulous. Perhaps I should see where the boys are shopping for something tight. At least my mirror will appreciate.
