Oct. 2nd, 2012 07:11 amMore not success:
Better coffee, weaker brew. I got a larger coffee press and added more coffee to the mix; unfortunately I also shrunk the time out of laziness because I didn't want to clean the pot and grind coffee at lunchtime. So I got a 12 hour steep time and for my trouble coffee in a clear glass which light passes through. That will not do.
I also tried a 6 scoops/tbs to 32 oz water. It was not goldilocks.
I got better coffee with 6 more hours steep time (so no wonder people do this in large batches) and the same ratio as I made regular coffee with hot water. The up side is not having to worry about time as overbrewing makes coffee bitter with hot water, but with room temperature water there is no downside in waiting.
Future variations I may try:
Fully 8 scoops per 32 oz
Using a metal sauce pan (revere!) to up the volume and spread the coffee over a wider area - flatter brewing if you will.
More importantly I've upped my magicfinding game in d3 so I can now solo whimsyshire with great results - I've actually caught a few legendaries, though each had meh value. I'm churning over 200k gold and 1.5 bars exp per hour, a huge improvement. It damn well better be - I blew 14mil or more making a radiant ruby for my hat. I don't know when patch 1.05 is coming out, but it will nerf my build and then I'll probably never be this high again, so I'm milking it while I still can. This paragraph is not meant to be read, only to firmly establish the fat L on my forehead.
