Feb. 5th, 2012 02:54 pmYesterday I had a guy come up to me in the gym and recommend hand wraps/gloves. I've seen him around on a regular basis - in fact I'm having more and more conversations with the regulars who also work out around 3:30 - 5:30. It kind of makes me feel legitimized. It was funny he noted that with hand wraps on he is, or I would be, able to focus on the weight w/o worry about dropping it. I told him I felt like I was still new so forcing myself to use my own grip not only improved my grip, but kept me from getting ahead of my abilities (i.e. prevents injuries).
The Director took my request to work with OGC seriously and to my surprise has already taken the initiative to set up a 60-day detail there (no set date as of yet). Also curious is my reaction of "hooray" mixed with a really strong bunch of "oh shit, I'll have to go to work in an office...oh shit, I'll have to wear a shirt with buttons, oh god and a tie..." I worked for decades to be this spoiled. Perhaps my experience there will teach me the things I care about are not really important. Perhaps I'll find they are.
I'm looking around my house thinking I'm either not as neurotic as I used to be, or I'm just really lazy.
