Mar. 28th, 2011 07:53 amI accused Janna of eating green bananas. She pointed out she doesn't want to eat them when it is yellow with brown spots OR looks like a giraffe. I eat giraffe bananas. Sitting in northside with her I drank 2 cups of coffee while she drank a small, a small latte. Small. For a dollar more more you can double the size, and if you just slam it down a beer bong...this morning I drank too much coffee but I did sip it. Moderation is more her strength than mine but I'm trying to learn.
Yesterday I squatted 270 for 3 reps which wasn't bad. While I did 5 sets of 10 at 200, and lost the ability to walk in so doing, a man beside me was doing reps of 315. Janna practically had to carry me up the stairs. Moderation? She's flexible and can walk, I'm acting as if at any moment someone might need a human car jack.

If you're too busy to read, it's a short story by Vonnegut about the future where everyone is made to be the same through government-mandated devices that make everyone physically and mentally equal. Smart people have to wear devices that blast sound at random intervals to distract people - bringing them down to the average level in the interest of fairness. We've achieved the same thing without coercion through ipods and iphones, disabling complex abstractions of thought through affirmation and distraction.
