Turn off your ipod day!
Today on the way to work I got a wild hair and turned the stereo off. Nothing but road noise. Then at work I didn't turn music on. When was the last time you did anything for more than 30 minutes without music playing? Try it! Why is music necessary on-call 24/7?
It's so hot I'm just mad at everything generating more heat. I can't get over how cool my house is just because most of it is shaded by a giant oak tree. I recently saw a gorgeous apt with a gorgeous view that gets hot as fuck when the sun hits it. I got blasted by heat by cars when biking, but the trip majority was in the shade and quite comfy. It makes me wonder why we moved so far away from natural (and cheap) energy solutions to the state we are in. Trees, very simple, good for the air, cheap (but not super cheap - they do cost money to maintain), and perfect for non-heat-producing shade in the summer, but they shed their leaves for sun to pass in the winter. My a/c at home is on about 78, but the office is so cold I'm wearing a sweater.
WORK
I'm so giddy and happy today - not sure why. Perhaps because much of the stress is behind me. I'm back to being on top of or ahead in all my work. Feels good. After all that struggle and negative feedback / wordsmithing on my brief, I returned to the office to find that the union responded with their brief - 1 page long. Mine was short: 12 pages. So my assault seems extra silly - had fun sending that to the person who had so much input in mine. On the meh side - starting the process on another 5 cases, and the dismissal I got last week isn't being counted as a win.
