Alchemy was just weird last night. There must have been some cosmic alignment, because the place was full of old-schoolers. Someone mentioned spring break, but none of the people I grappled with were in college. I had no intentions of going out myself, but after class I had a sudden attack of wtf. I'm glad I went - the crowd wasn't ugly, wow. Got to see a lot of old friends, or perhaps what I think are friends are just complacent people? Adam did this weird thing where out of the blue he played a buncha de punk musica. It was fun to hear, but I don't know punk music or how to dance to it. I take that back, it was fucking fun to hear. Got to see Dan bouncing around to it!

I swear I think a guy tried to start a fight with me last night, or I ran into him on the dance floor too many times. He stopped on the dance floor and did that stare-down thing, but I was in full-fun mode and didn't really think anything of it. I just grabbed his arm and looked at him, giggling, and went back to dancing. I mean everyone else that grabbed me all night was saying hello. All I thought was I didn't know him and wow what an ugly goatee. A giggle and apathy trumps male aggression. The downside to last night was that the synth pop suckage started on both floors at the same time, leading to the mass departure of people I knew. Perhaps it's when the people I know leave they play the synth, but either way it made midnight the time to leave and I really wanted to stay. I was disturbed by one thing, I had a huge urge to drink for no reason. Haven't felt that in a while, was hoping that urge was gone.

I was told last night was an unusually good non-sucky night in terms of music and people, but I'm willing to give it another shot based on what I saw and heard. Of course the point is moot while I'm in school...

You know there are a lot of courthouse shootings and related killings in the news right now. Like this that just occurred:

Talk about missing the point. These morons have all these huge problems which snowball until finally they wind up in court. When they lose, they lash out at the last links in the chain, rather than all the other people they encountered along the way. Shooting a judge because they ruled against you is like attacking you landlord after you failed to pay rent because you blew your paycheck on crack. Actually no, it's worse - many more steps down the road. If they wanted to really address the source of the problem, they would put the first bullet inside their own skull, rather than the last one.
