vicarzStarted this morning with an atty sending me the copy of a motion to compel on the wrong case; you see she's frazzled because she's been carrying 2 caseloads for a month. I've had about that since May. I see at least her technique and demeanor is the same across clients (I recently noted I called her a cunt, and apologized to cunts).
Then I see an analysis/response I drafted has been edited with happy-to-glad changes, which I don’t' mind, but then adding grammatical mistakes (i.e. affidavit have, from affidavit has).
In the announcement of the sequester, the official who cancelled the vacancy announcements, criticized our work, told us not to ask her questions, stated we would not get more resources, said our work was easy, and concluded she'd be soliciting more work from other programs (I guess since we suck we need more work to not get done?), has issued an all-hands announcement of a contest to design a coin.
"I am pleased to announce that OM has implemented a Coin Recognition Award Program and Design Contest aimed to provide on the spot employee recognition. Our goal is to recognize contribution, promote pride, build cohesion and increase morale within the organization...The employee or group will design for a custom-minted half dollar size coin using one of the associated themes.
3. An OM employee panel will determine the winning design based on the contest theme along with creativity.
Design Themes: 1) Office of Management Excellence in Service, Teamwork, and Program Management Delivery. 2) Valued Employees, Communication, and Resources (VCR)."
So the entire government is being slashed, we're eliminating about 20-25% of our staff (unrelated to sequester), furloughing staff due to sequester...and this bitch is wasting time and money on an art project contest. I have a suggestion, presuming we can't fire her...fire whomever wins for having the time to design a picture while on the clock.
I have worked hard to get where I am, and while I get annoyed - my annoyance is based on expectations. I have expectations based my education, years of service, well recognized achievements, and generally my investment in this position and career. I could be starving in Africa or being recruited as a child soldier. I could be a heroin addict under a bridge waking up to a nightstick.
Emilio my friend, I could be picking oranges. You told me every day worked inside was a gift. I'll try to remember that.
