Ah yes, returning to my computer after a week away, the government laptop with it's full security lockdown, auto-features for idiots, and 4 year old bottom-tier low-bidder technology, I find I'm unable to do a thing for 1-2 hours while it crawls along on reconnection to the worky-lan...so I'll write here. Notice the utter lack of savings when security measures and "cheap" technology solutions make me unable to work for my paltry government salary. These are similar to the cost savings by having me make my own copies, issue my own mail, and of course get mail 2 weeks after sending due to "security" radiation of all incoming mail to government buildings. Attorneys often take advantage of this since most filing responses must be issued within 10 days - so snail it to me and the deadline will pass before I get your mail. But just think of the safety!
I've decided to go possibly gym nuts this week. This week is my week of 1 rep max attempts, and I'm thinknig of making it a real go. My short-term goals were simple: Every weight a plate.
DL - 4 plates. Squat - 3 plates. Bench - 2 plates. Press - 1 plate.
Press - achieved. Possibly getting stronger but not "pressing it." Punny.
Squat - this week, since I (think?) did 305 doing 315 is not unimaginable. That will be my attempt today. I think I can do this and it's a real hallmark for me. 6 muthafuggin plates on the bar, and my ass to the floor. Damn.
But to be more realistic:
DL - I failed 2 mos ago at 390, then had a strong 1 at 390 a month ago. Two things make me think I might consider holding off until next series before hitting the 405 even though it's not much more on a % basis: a) my grip has beein failing even with a cross-grip, b) I'm not achieving more reps on the lower sets of 5 and 3, and c) I may be achieving a PB this week already, possibly 2. My motivation is easier when I'm setting records, so while it might make this a happy week for me if I set 3 PBs, that same elation will be missing in future months and make it harder to plug ahead with no real goals in sight.
Bench - this is my least-likely venture. Even the computer doesn't show me as able to nail my old nemisis of 225. I'd be more responsible if I put this one off until I was a bit stronger and consistently exceeding the 5 and 3 rep weeks (I did hit my 3 rep for 4 last week though, so it's not unimaginable that I could nail it).
Oh and my sorceress is past level 75 and starting in on some mf runs in norm and nm dif. She's wearing angelic set with mira's shield, and I'm debating the merits of having her group baal run in nm vs. solo mf run ... or ... just pushing her into hell dif and loading up for pit runs. I'm very happy with my chosen course in terms of fast development on this ladder season. I named her, apologetically, "OverObjectified" to make up for my immature "SleptAround" character name. You see she looks like a belly dancer...
