vicarzI may be out of a job? Today I found out that the same Director who I trashed when he tried to make some smug comments at our expense is covering up the fact that our entire program area, from AA on down, may be eliminated entirely and sucked into the Dept. itself. This sort of consolidation can and likely will lead to elimination of positions. This fello I'm having problems with has hidden this from the entire affected staff. Muthafugga.
I have a lot of money in the bank and in stocks. Maybe an involuntary break would be nice. It's more likely that I'm well positioned and would not be lost - in fact I have some connections in the Dept. that I have kept warm (not for this sort of reason, but because I have actual human relationships even with people who I have not always agreed with).
This weekend I saw Harry Potter, and at the risk of sounding even more socially retarded than I am, this fellow I'm having problems with has the same traits as the no-nose dude. He is powerful as an individual, but his followers are weak and his fundamental lack of understanding of human nature may yet be his downfall. He puts no value in principles or loyalty, but tremendous faith in force and coercion behind a mask of information hoarding.
Time to work the connections, stop being complacent, and pick up a more serious job scan. This would be my second 8.5 year government Agency job span.
