Help - anyone know a good headlight-gone-foggy restoration system?
I just failed VA inspection because my headlight covers are too oxidized...ugh.

On the plus side, I'm a Latino driving around an old honda with a rejected inspection sticker!

I had planned to pick up the 3M system for my 10+ year old Passat but never got around to it so I can't speak from direct personal experience, only what some poking around had led me to decide on.

Word on the street was it worked well, but is kind of a pain in the ass to do well. How much time and effort are you willing to invest?

Yeah I have heard it requires time and a power drill. Ugh, but it needs doing I guess.

I've got a drill and a driveway you're welcome to use if needed.

I have the same, now charging :)
I'll report on the aggravation.

If you've got an extra battery you'll probably want to charge it as well. If I recall the instructions correctly there was a not insubstantial amount of spinning time involved.

It's not all that bad. I used similar stuff on Terri's car to good effect.

Thanks! I had nearly bought the 3m stuff without knowing it as a safety inspection issue just because it bugged me, but backed off when people whined about it on amazon reviews. Now I'll just have to give it a whack.

Ha! This is hilarious to me only because I've been dying to try a product that I keep seeing infomercials for, it's call Fast Brite and it claims to magically restore your headlight covers in seconds. It could be complete crap but, I want to try it really bad anyway. They have their own website but, it's also available on Amazon with a multitude of more legitimate sounding alternatives like Turtle Wax Headlight Lens Restorere kits. Let us know if you try something that works, my headlight covers aren't too bad but, could use some freshening up.

I saw that commercial too, but I'm HIGHLY skeptical.

I was also highly skeptical, but, I was still captivated. If it was available in stores I would probably pay the $10 just to satisfy my curiosity.

I'm not going to blow $10...well I might, but that's not really the price. All tv scams now use S&H to more than double the price.
