I'm annoyed. The furlough is delayed or cancelled, so while us gummint workers are still lambasted in a full rejection of the free-market economy theory as applied to employment's market, I don't at least get the sleep in ability of the public scorn.

I'm annoyed. While not dieting, I've been eating less candy, drinking less booze, cooking more and restauranting less, skipping appetizers, and sharing deserts...and after losing 2 lbs I gained them right back. Oh, and I've been running 2-4 miles almost every day to the detriment of my other programs. I weighed in at 147 this AM...really?

Granted, some of my max weights are going up so some has to be muscle sure - but for all that discipline I don't seem to fit my pants any better and it's not due to my huge washboard ripping my pants. No, it's just continued flub. I mean would I be worse if I wasn't under control? Or if I would be the same, I'd rather return to my beer and chocolate diet. This kinda sucks.

PS who needs ringtones when you have http://www.ealasaid.com/fan/lorrelibrary/lorre/aaol.html ?

Age happens.
I stopped drinking for the month of January. (There was an exception for two nights that dealt with my birthday, but otherwise nothing.)
I ate no chocolate, cookies, or ice cream.

I gained 2 lbs.
In February I went back to my beer, whiskey, and bourbon.
I also made it to the gym a bit more after going to a chiro;
I dropped a pound by the end of the month.

*shrug* (note: I also changed up my workout, got off the reclining bike and doubled my time on the elliptical using the arms. That is kicking my ass and may be behind the weight loss.)

I still can't run for fuck; the treadmill controls flummux me and the staff at the gym seem to have no clue, though the mercenaries...err...trainers are all happy to help...for a price.

I have figured out how to gerry-rig any treadmilly thing into the manual mode - hence my 3.0 incline for 30 minutes at speed 6.0 over, and over, and over.

Age is definitely happening, but I tend to think there might be something I'm' missing or over/under estimating. Usually effort without result is misstated or based on ignorance.

I know that ignorance is part of why my returns are not as substantial as I would wish; that and a kink in my lower back that I haven't been able to work out for, oh, three-odd years. Import? I can't do squats.

Ew.

Eep that sucks. I am nursing a problem in my lower back that has sidetracked my deadlifts, but rest seems to be working (I hope).

I had some squat injuries, many of which I found were based on my poor flexibility and failure to rest enough. It never hurts to re-read some of the "how to squat" pointers online for they often explain where problems occur and how to remedy the things such as flexibility.

Squats are good training for being overseas and/or drunk in an alley.

I vote for beer & chocolate! Your LJ would probably be more interesting. ;-p

Cheerful perhaps, but not from me as I'm unhappy flubby. I think it is interesting, but your taste may not be the same as mine. I think the negativity is a huge turn-off for you, and I sympathize but don't share that taste.

Indeed, the negativity really does not work for me. I may have to unsubscribe. It is nothing personal!

Understood and respected.
I like some of the links you post, but the volume and general interest is somewhat low. Still, I just skim what I'm not riveted to.

I take dumps bigger than two pounds. Hell, these days, I probably put on a pound of filth between showers...

I appreciate the relative weights don't translate to others, but at my weight and body fat % this is important to me after exerting the consistent level of effort and sacrifice compared to the results experienced.

On the other hand, you open an interesting door...perhaps if I showered...
