vicarzI was almost single this time - but whether I am with someone or not, I don't like VD.
However, yesterday we went to, spur of the moment, dogfish head and had romantic beer and burgers (if you count mushrooms). Romantic beer has given me an idea to celebrate this holiday in a way that is less consumerific and annoying:
Today is do that nasty something day.
Every couple has something nasty they like.
It might be the bar they rarely visit, that dirty college bar they met, the hot tub at the lodge, that hotel they stopped in once,
that role playing you have to be in the mood for, the full bondage run at a friend's house who has all that equipment, the entire fur suit, that get up that requires a team of 5 to lace up, the contortionist warm up positions, the carefully timed and measured meals, the locked box of fully charged clean toys,
those fantasies you sometimes discuss, those mutual porn dates, the not-worth-the-effort okStupid trolling, the other people talk while petting each other, that 3some that probably wasn't a good idea, that crazy bitch/fool that always disappoints in the end, that couple you hang out with but not that often, those pre-us poly dates that really piss you off, your sig other's closer than appropriate relative...
That should be today. The dirty nasty shit, the slightly dangerous to illegal and insane - today should be the "enjoy pressing or revisiting the boundaries" holiday.
Or not, because really...all of that should be based on what you feel like and where the relationship is - not the calendar. Come to think of it, the same thing applies to eating chocolate or going out to dinner.
Never mind.

Date: 2011-02-17 01:01 am (UTC)We spent v-day lazing around the house, with me trying desperately not to add more bruises from the itching or throw up again (stupid body - apparently it hates me this week). But around 9ish, I had managed to eat a bit, and taken 3 or 4 doses of meds to calm things down, which helped a bit.
So we went to wumpskate where I got to spend some time with my girlfriend too. And won free tickets to see Devo next month which should be amusing. Freaks on skates is surprisingly fun, and several of us who ice skate are going to try to sort out a place to do freaks on ice too.
