Whoever wins the election overall, and whether the ratio is 49/51 or 60/40, a nearly split legislature in a country designed to gridlock government action, is by no means any sort of mandate. The country will remain at war, in economic crisis, and troubled with its morality for years to come.

I didn't get the whole "Oh, boy, things will be different now!" routine with Obama, and I don't get why the Tea Partiers or GOP supporters seem to think this will magically cure our ills if the right takes as many seats as was forecasted earlier.
