Actually, I occasionally participate in a group that pays people for REAL research studies. If you have spare time and wouldn't mind making an odd $50-300 about 1-2 times a year, you might register with them. They call every so often, but I don't usually qualify for the study de jour.

As in this case - they are currently recruiting smokers who have tried to quit.



Please forward it to whoever you think might be interested. We are
having a very hard time with this one! If any of your friends are
interested in participating in focus groups, they can register at our website
(www.metroresearchservices.com) or call Ms. Grant at 703-385-1108 to
see if they qualify for the smoking study.

I've done some of these before. My brother and I participated in a study on siblings and risk behavior at NIMH. I've always wondered if we skewed the results somehow...

Heh - usually NIH studies require medical thingys. These are just telling what ads you like/hate etc. They also feed you...me likee free food mmm

They just asked us a bunch of questions. They seemed to be really interested in how much I drank (a fair amount) and how gay I was (just a smidge).

Speaking as someone who works for the NIH, I have to say that this line of questioning seems to befit Girls Gone Wild. "How much do you have to drink before you will make out with, oh, Suzy over there?"
