Press coverage of our protest at GMU Law:

A brief mention on the Rachel fucking Maddow show!

(missing the "law" part of GMU but that's ok)

(PS I think they dramatized the yelling issue - we were outside, and did not break up after the incident they claim - I never saw Cuccinelli nor did I hear anyone heckle him, rather we had finished our speakers, heard he was going to stay inside and not address us, the session was limited to GMU Law students only, and it started to rain)

Channel 4 NBC:

(video requires flash - I can't watch this at work)

Channel 9 CBS

I checked the Washington Times, but they appear to be having technical problems as there was no mention of any disparaging words about Cuccinelli at their site.

We had several local politicians show up and speak for us:
Jay Fisette, Chair, Arlington County Board
Bob Brink, Delegate, 48th District
Abby Raphael, Arlington County School Board
(Chair was there too, but didn't speak)

I may take a lesson from the teabaggers and preach for Arlington to succeed from the commonwealth. No taxation without representation!

I warned Kat that if things continue on this trend I would definitely have to leave Richmond (though it is a dark purple) and maybe the state altogether.
Now she is worried--I have a job interview in NYC near the end of May.
...of course, I also think of Psyche, because I have an *odd* trepidation that we may see a massive swing back toward the right--a bad economy, continued wars, decreased in social programs and education at the state level, and then the Right mucking about with this bandaid proposal...we could be in for some serious suck...with a sandpaper tongue and razor teeth.
