Ergh I’ve run out of people to tell about my stoopid LSAT score. Now I have to think about whether or not I can git my tay-el into one of those schools. Those schools, Harvard, Stanford, Yale…names I only know from teen movies and the like. Can I paint myself black for a scholarship? I most likely can’t get in, since they take gpas from 3.77 and up and the top 5% of the LSAT folk. Gee, I’m in the lowly top 10% of the LSAT, and only had a 3.5 undergrad gpa, sigh. I have NO IDEA what they’ll think of my MA degree with 3.52 gpa, AA degree with 3.86 gpa, Hispanic status, or the over 7 years of employment law experience with the Labor Dept. If I did get in, how the hell would I pay for it? What, besides gloat and later feel smug, would I do with that education? Why the fuck am I going to go to school now that I’m 34?

I’m not about to take one of those killer jobs that law grads always seem to be jumping for – where you pay your dues working 80 or more hours a week as a law slave. I’m pretty much a 40 hour per week man, and I feel like I’ve paid my damn dues already. I can take less money, far less money, if I can retain my life and sanity. Well, sanity…can’t lose what you don’t have :)

Did I mention that I did well on the test? Whee! I was hoping all the dumb people would take it in October, and they did!

you know...

if you want to makes LOADS of money and not do anything all day, why don't you become a lobbiest?? I work for 4 lobbiests and they show up whenever they want, go to 2 hour lunches, take random days off just 'cause they feel like it and every once in a while they have to deal with clients. They get paid to go to lunches and dinners and bars after work to hang out with staffers and Senators. You have to beable to talk to people and manipulate a little, but i'm sure you could.

I suck at schmoozing and have principals. Most causes that require lobbying efforts aren't good ones (in my tree-hugging view).

well - you could work for other tree-huggers. For every cause out there that you hate, there is an opposite (tho not always equal) side that opposes them.

anyway - that's the only job i really know where you can make buckets of money and not really do any hard work. Unless you can sing? I think they're having new trials for A.I..... maybe in a city near you!! ;)

I could spin around a pole partially dressed - for the kids, of course.
