Do other people think "What a fucking 'tard," when they see someone enter information onto a computer screen with the keyboard, only to then reach for the mouse (often not next to the keyboard) and use the mouse to bring the arrow to the "enter" button and click it - rather than just hitting "Enter" on that same keyboard?"
Do most people understand tab order in web page development, and want to punch aprogrammer web designer in the face every time they navigate to a web page that does not automatically put the cursor in the most logical place to start entering data, and/or find tab does not take them through the rest of the data entry screen?

Date: 2009-10-08 07:37 pm (UTC)as for the tabbing - what i dislike is when it skip over anything with a list of selections - usually this happens with states. you can type in your city and then you tab right into zip code. have to go back to the mouse, scroll down, select. it's not any faster when it works like that. it should open the list and let you type in 2-3 letters and select the right one.

Date: 2009-10-09 03:49 am (UTC)but yes. most designer / developers don't get that far in the process. they either want the page to look pretty but couldn't care less about functionality, or care only about functionality and the page looks like ass and doesn't really work that well anyway.
(personally i cringe more at the people who mouse > select > menu:edit > menu:copy > menu:edit > menu:paste instead of just mouse > select > ctrl-c > ctrl-v)
