Psst - in case LJ is actually dying, I recommend backing up with http://ljarchive.sourceforge.net/ which has worked for me thus far.

Hello internets. First of all, I wanted to thank all of you for enjoying my humorous fake post about zombies (always remember this site comes with a "fiction only" disclaimer). Of course it turns out there was a fire across the street - hardly anything unusual, though we all owe another round of applause to those who serve our emergency services ranks at risk to life and limb to keep us all safe. Of course no secret government emergency personnel exist at all, and if they did exist it would be absurd to set a fire intentionally to cover up a zombie outbreak in a small apartment building sheltering predominately Hispanic blue-collar workers. I note that the advice I gave is always a good idea in case of robbery or other inappropriate behavior, and all 100% legal. I've seen the place myself up close, and nothing appears out of the ordinary. God bless USia.

Today's meeting was fascinating. Our LR expert had good insights into ways to attack an unfavorable decision, and I'm 100% on board with what needs to be done. I only wish I were more capable right now, but the drugs and sickness are still taking their toll. I am absolutely excited to do this, and yes it turns out I'm the one stuck with the task of writing and filing an appeal. Now, I don't really have the time to do this - so I'll probably throw in some comp time to get it done, but I...I feel the fever on this one. I love to do a good argument in writing, and after today's observations I'm very enthusiastic about attacking the weaknesses of this decision. I only wish I had the experience to have seen all these angles myself from the onset. Oddly I think all parties are happy I'll be the one writing the draft based on my writing skills and style. I have also already mentally drafted this event into another KSA, and it already looks fantastic on paper. "Upon receiving a significant class-based arbitration loss, I was tasked with formulating the Agency's chances for appeal and drafting the appeal on behalf of the Agency - despite not being the principal litigator assigned to the case. I researched the case law, analyzed the case and decision, then drafted a response and submitted it to Sr. Mgt..."

I'm less into a job search - my mood has shifted both based on my personal life (omg happy except for the hairballs) (but I'm not about to stop licking myself), watching a coworker rediscover the benefits we have here in terms of workplace flexibility and how much that really means, and nothing that most upper-grade government lawyer jobs ask for 3-6 years of experience post-bar. I'm at about a year post-bar, and I can easily tell you the career experience I need to polish and develop to really be at a journeyman level in this area of employment law.

Question - how do you find a good doctor? Does anyone know a good regular doc that takes BC/BS in the N. Arlington area?

On the narcissistic insane side, I don't know what I weigh or when to relax the diet. The scale gave me everything from 141 to 136.2 in the last 2 days. I do know my 29" non-vanity sized pants (fuck you dockers for lying to me) are looser than just a short time ago. At 135 I relax no matter how stupid the scale reading is - 5am naked will do just fine. Everything but a mythbuster-sized bunch of balloons will count. Haven't worked out in any form since sick.

My GP is in McLean - Dr. Armani. She is very no-nonsense, though a bit generous with antibiotics. To find a new doc I go through the list provided by the insurance company and Google the names. I look to see if they have done any research, and whether the reviews on Insider Pages and others are mostly positive. This is how I found a good sleep doctor and orthopaedic specialist.

Thanks - good idea. I've had trouble with their listings rejecting my searches for having >200 providers in a 1 mile radius...screening around that.
