Sick of shouting
Oct. 27th, 2008 08:40 amThe election is over - I am convinced that nobody is going to be convinced of anything now. Those that read have already examined the data, those that don't are already locked in to their gut reaction and subsequent vote. It's over. There is no point to discussing it any further except to feel as though your opinion is worth singing about, affiliate with your group, or alienate "theirs." Yelling OBAMA or MCCAIN right now is like going to a gay pride march and yelling jebus died for your sins, turn back...you don't seriously expect to change someone's opinion now, do you?
Want to do something meaningful in your politics right now? Discuss which congressperson you're voting for and why, which council member, which county board member, hell which school board member and why. Do you know? What data did you base your decision on? Which views of your choice parallel your own compared to those of the opponent? Which of your opponent's views do you disagree with?

Date: 2008-10-27 04:05 pm (UTC)My friends, we can stand here and debate numbers, fret about percentages and decimals, or we can look at the big picture: America doesn't want to be afraid of their government, afraid to ask the tough questions, for fear that the media attack dogs will punish them for it.
My friends, it's time for a change. Stand with me, hop on the Straight Talk Express and let's ride straight on into a new day of opportunity, of optomism, of freedom. Thank you and God Bless America.
