I wish I had more RAM. I have the ability to conduct abstract reasoning, but I lack sufficient placeholders to do much without accessing remote storage devices. This isn't a factor when involving existing schema, i.e. subjects with which I have intimate familiarity, but with novel arenas the lack of developed structure necessitates the placeholders until such links are developed.

This is a frustrating weakness - it's not like a lack of IQ where you simply fail to recognize the issue, it's knowing you could process the information if only you could remember the bits and pieces.

Not really - HD has been stored more permanently, and is less fequently accessed. That's more akin to LTM vs. STM. RAM fits more as STM for those items that must be worked with immediately, and from that only some pieces are saved to the HD.

Lack of RAM would be like being stoned. You wouldn't be able to keep track of what was happening from one second to the next. It isn't used for storing facts, just for processing data as it goes in and out. Short-term memory only holds a minute or so of information, and only 5-10 pieces of information.

The real issue isn't probably the lack of facts, or lack of storage for - its the being able to find the facts and recall them thing. Vicar needs indexed search capabilities.
