Of course, in the winter, I'd probably need a jacket for my coat... so it doesn't catch a chill and get sick.

Seriously, though, people really need to get the difference between life and complex life (or potentially complex life or maybe I'll go as far as saying sentient life) straightened out in their heads. Feeling bad for killing a random collection of lab-grown skin cells is just plain silly. If you're going to do that, you may as well feel like a murderer for scraping your knee or cutting the lawn.
