I want to thank whomever told me way-back-when that DOOM was worse than I could imagine. I'd far rather watch the video game, but hey...it was on tv and I was on the couch.

Ever feel like you're trying to work around your hardware by rewriting your mental software, but you're not a programmer, the programmers aren't motivated to help with your issues, nor are the programmers knowledgeable about your organization, the original program was written with different goals in mind, the documentation is lacking, the code is spaghetti, the database format no longer is efficient at coding new information...I could go on.

My brain is bad code on outdated hardware. I'm trying to reboot but I'm locked in dysfunctional cycles.

I'm actually in a good mood, but the analogy holds...just because today is nice doesn't mean I don't need fixing

You've not hit rock bottom until you've watched American Cyborg.

The 1993 movie American Cyborg: Steel Warrior or the 2002 movie An American Cyborg?

Yeah, I hit the bottom of that barrel and kept digging.

We watched about 10 minutes and decided to go to bed instead.

Sad thing is - the last 10 minutes looks like the video game and didn't suck as much as the entire movie. Still...it wasn't cool enough to begin to make up the damage.

Perhaps I was biassed because I didn't really like doom 3. In fact, my favorite doom memories are from the original and related mods. I loved to single player and just run through a room of baddies to get them to hit each other and just go to town while I watched.

Best line: "I'm not supposed to die!?"

Me too, but don't take my opinion too seriously, I also love the shit out of the even more horrible Van Damme Street Fighter movie.
