Is anyone else baffled by the "economic stimulus plan?" Is $600 individually life or collectively economy changing? The country is in absurd debt and the answer to our financial woes, rather than buckle down and work hard and save enough to pay the bills, is to spend more money "so the economy will be better and our same tax rates will siphon more cash." I don't want to spend more money if I'm poor or worried about money - I want to pay my damn bills so every dime I spend is not costing me more in interest than if I don't spend it. Oh, then there is that war thing...

I also think the fed has gone bonkers - first they do nothing at their meeting, which is a fine way of showing a wall of confidence, but then when world markets tumble they panic and sink the rate 3/4 of a point? I mean this helps me tremendously - I've rough calculated that would save me $300 monthly on one mortgage if refinanced. I'm waiting for next week's meeting for another stupid drop which I oppose, but which benefits me. But the moves are so inconsistent they almost forced the administration to "admit the recession exists." I don't even mind a recession, just deal with it and don't act like frightened schoolgirls.

Rats. I slept like a baby. Last night I thought I heard noises so I got pissed and popped my head up in the ceiling - only to find the exterminator had been in and placed poison packages in the space. Nobody told me about this, and I requested non-lethal traps.

Work in insane - much to do, may work parts of this weekend (affects no plans I've made). I want to do a murky stint, but am expecting people to come by the place today to buy my dvd/stereo system and old laptop memory. I have been hawking CL.

Today is my 13th employment anniversary of my career in the Federal Government. In 2 years, this will mean I get 8 hours of annual leave for each pay period (vs. 6 today).

Suddenly having $600 extra would day would be nice, I won't deny that, but I would rather have a economy that worked, maybe a decent job market so I could look around and then tell my boss I need a raise to X amount or I have to leave. As it is I am afraid to ask for another raise, even with how ridiculously little I make. There is something insulting about it, 'oh give the rabble some money so they shut up'. Funny that they talk about getting it to the people that really need it but are so reluctant to extend foodstamps and unemployment benefits.

Poison is a terrible way to deal with rodents. If one of them dies inside the walls it will rot there unless somebody tears open a wall to find the corpse.
