I was going to wait to post until later, but this article about how that whitey Columbus brought syphilis to the Americas inspired me to say "Hispanics, not so big on that Columbus fella who found a giant series of civilizations half a world away from where he thought he was and started their destruction through violence and disease." But give me 8 hours paid leave and I'll take off for Hitler day if you offer it.

Eating too much too late at night, then waking up and hearing mousykins scurrying around the rafters...not making me bright and fresh this AM.

Holy shit do I like Ms. Kittin. Wow. Listening to bugged out mix, a cute 2cd set I picked up at the twitching corpse of strangeland records, one cd "day" another "night" and they are both filled with music that I listen to on my internet radio stations. Go-go electronic junk for José!

I'm doing more research on upping my bench, and the theory that squats and deadlifts are key doesn't hold up. I'm sticking with squats, deadlifts, and may go into some of those olympic snappy things - but I'm afraid that advice aside, the vast majority of sites I've researched refer to bench max building through...benching! There are many theories as to how to get there, and which are the most important angles to hit, nutrients to eat, and how to tackle each supporting muscle - but this makes sense to me. Running doesn't help you swim nor jump rope other than generally building up your cardio system. So you wanna up your bench? Bench! How, when, and what to eat afterwards are questions - but what you need to do to get better at it is not. It's good to keep shaking up my routine and the squats are a keeper - but not for the sake of increasing my bench. Still, lesson to me is to whine on LJ less and research on my own more. Internet wheat chaffe aside, you can discover general trends if nothing else.

Does this food make me look fat? I've gained weight, but between my body fat scale not working right and my mood and recency of food intake effecting my view of my body, I think I need to rest a bit over the washboard. I took pictures of it, but again with the research, you can't really gain muscle without some other stuff - and duh I will weigh more. Maybe the not eating enough is my problem. New plan is to eat when I'm hungry, keep the food healthy (truffles for dinner), and just pay attention to belly over belt or pants feeling tight. I can't see why my middle should grow along with other muss-kles. I know how to drop fat if need be, but I think I should get the "bench 225" out of the way before I die.

Was pointed towards and joined http://community.livejournal.com/gymrats/profile profile linked because they have a great list of workout sites right plop in the middle of the page.

You are 100% right, but for some silly reason I still wanna bench. It's not going to be the sole core of my workout though - and I've been doing it for ages and usually push my limits w/o injury. It's not logical, but I want to push that silly weight. When I reach that goal, I'll moderate my program into more general fitness - though I'm already pretty balanced compared to a "pecs on the deck" guy.

I am pushing the squats, and love them and am shocked at the difference they are making throughout my general fitness. I am really working the legs, fixing my knees, and building even more core strength - particularly in the lower back. All that movement ties in nicely with what I'm learning in the boxing conditioning class too. I actually work those same areas in boxy-boxy, only much faster with no weight over and over again.

I remember your stories about competitions with you squat/kettle-bell people against the bench press boys. As I recall, you knocked them down repeatedly.

I am definitely going to keep up on back and legs. I got lucky with that boxing class, as that built up my back and legs too - but I agree that I can't just do stamina training. Lucky for me I have lots of time to work on it!

Go back and check your prepositions. Columbus brought syphilis from the Americas to Europe, according to that article.

As an attorney, I lack attention to details. Especially ones which completely change the meaning.
