I lost my first case! I'm pretty annoyed - it was a pointless loss, the arbitration which I identified as a risk because although my case was pretty solid, it was an arbitration and we just won one with the same parties and arbitrator. I have to review the case to see if this arbitrator was inconsistent with his prior ruling from months before. We were worried that with two arbitrations before the same fellow by the same parties he would give and take one so each side would be likely to use his services again. I knew I'd lose a case someday, but there are some I wouldn't mind losing - this one we were right and I think the ruling was just silly. I've read over it and analyzed it - he ignored huge pieces of evidence, didn't support his findings, and even quoted alleged case law without citing the case! This bungholio teaches law...how very sloppy. Remind me to retire into being an arbitrator though.

Bound is having a free guest list special. I'm not sure I want to go, but I used to go, and it's free. I don't think my friends go there anymore (or I didn't maintain friendships with many bound peep would be another way of putting it). I like the cheese factor though.

I think Chronos might be off the plate for tonight. Sometimes it seems like the harder Tony promotes the less interested I am. Love you Tony, but switching from Chronos to Arcadia screams of Oliver. Tonight's night might not be as bad as a Jen Lasher night, but I'm not feeling it.

Thanks for all your responses yesterday to the "after work" poll. My answer has varied lately...from
(during school) "I come home, cook and eat w/n 15-30 mins, nap for 10-20 minutes, and go to school for 2-4 hours." (the entire weekend was spent doing prep & homework)
(after school) "I leave work and go to the hospital for 2-4 hours, gym for 2 hours most days, add in food and travel time and it's bedtime for bonzo."
(Now) varies a lot. 5 days a week there is a workout of 1-2 hours, food is still about 15-30 minutes. I try to do something with a friend most days - murky coffee, foods, deserts, walks, talks, bars, drinks, drunkhouse, mostly anything is an excuse to sit around and talk. Other than that, I do chores, game, IM/net, read, shop...I'm still working on what to do.

Last night I found out that my old boxing coach didn't just appear in the gym, train for 2 years, and enter the ring winning like I thought he did. He was always a very serious athlete all through hs, and trained for years in martial arts. Sure he's an impressive fighter, but it's because of long hard work - not some innate ability. Good. Last night the girl-boxing-coach said I was her inspiration. No matter what she throws at us, when she's doing it she gets tired but she can always look over at me and see me going at it full tilt, so she figures so can she. I swear somewhere inside I'm still a stoner-slacker, but you can't always tell from the outside. After my super-cool workout, I sat at home with a late-night sugary alcohol drink and watched drawn together. I work hard so I can play hard...and then slack and nap.

Music that makes me spin right now:
Plummet - damaged (too close to home?)
Royksopp - what else is there (holy shit I love this song)
Darude - feel the beat
Orbital - Halcyon
Holden & Thompson - Nothing
Ladytron - destroy everything you touch

I think the music shows my sexuality: I'm a gay straight girl. See, I mostly like girls. However, gay girls are ugly and nasty, and I'm not nor are the girls I'm attracted to. Plus, this music is stupid and really, really, really gay. But it's not really gay, it's like Madonna gay. But I like girls. But I like listening to and dancing to this music. While watching myself. So um, yeah. I'm a gay straight girl, coz straight girls are pretty and like pretty things, but gay coz they like each other. See, got it all figured out! Talk about pigeon-holing yourself...

You know that episode of Trinity Blood where they fight the vampire fairies? There is a scene where the lead fairy stabs her loyal friend - but later he comes to her defense anyway. That aint me.

I wasn't a fan of the DJ list for Arcadia either. I think the next time I'll be showing up for it is the 29th to support Steve and Donna.

Sorry you lost case #1. I still can't believe how many gothie lawyers there are.

It makes sense though - what is a goth? It's a literature oriented art fag with a taste for the visually stimulating. So, we're art fags and have liberal arts degrees, which could make us poor. But we like to be pretty and have pretty things, so we want to be rich. How can you get rich as an art fag with a liberal arts degree? Law. It's almost predictable.

My route was to become a writer, but two of my degrees are law based: American Political Science with an emphasis in Con Law and International Political Science with an emphasis on Intl Law. I could never bring myself to go to law school though as back then I was like "They'd never allow a lawyer with long black hair and whose clothing causes seizures!"

Didn't stop me.

Of course, my hair was still brown, then.

I guess this means you can't be the son of Satan.

Reference to, when ratings for The Brady Bunch were declining, they added new 'talent' in the form of a hitherto unexplained "Cousin Oliver," whose entire purpose was to be cute. Or something. The tactic failed miserably and has been ruthlessly parodied in popular culture since.

YOu knew you would eventually lose a case. Plus if you won everytime it would start to bore you even quicker.

Sorry to hear about the case :/

Also, I am laughing about your "gay straight girl" self-description ;>
