Has anyone else noticed the entire intraweb has slowed down? I have cable and a fast computer to which the internet is no challenge, but it seems every site I visit takes a long time to load up all of their ads. Lots more noisy and video ads, and everyone wants to put cookies from 5 other websites on your computer. I have all cookies blocked unless I approve them, and that may be some of the speed - but even LJ takes forever to load due to the 50 different pics from 50 different locations. I'm not patient enough - half the time I hit stop once the text comes up because I don't give a damn about your pet/joke/cartoon/picture. Anyone else wondering or knowing why the internet slowed down?

Still studying, way behind, and even without work I don't seem to have enough hours in the day. Still stupid, still getting scores of my peers after studying that they get starting. Did contracts and was whipped - 5/17 to start, then I did a lot of studying and even made flashcards. Result - 19/34 on the hour-long section. Did more studying, refined my notes, more flashcards...did another hour section, 20/34. They say the average on these is about 50%, so I had to work my way up to average. After reaching average, I can't seem to surpass it even with more work. The other day I heard a guy talking to his friend and joking that he should bend the pages on his book so it looks like he's been reading it. Hope he's lying or fails. It's amazing to me how little work I get done, and I'm still trying to figure out how to study more. I forget that I can't just plug away because I have time - that I burn out and fill up. Caffeine doesn't do as much as one would hope for. I'm a USian - give me a drug that'll make this ok!

On the other hand, had a weekend full of not working. Did a housewarmey thing on Sat, and spent Sunday with Kelowna on old rag. It was strange seeing Kel because it wasn't strange - I felt like we slipped right back into our groove like she had never been away. Had a good hike and despite her gloomy predictions she still was able to do a good pace the whole way. Much talking to the point I was raspy for about a day afterwards.

Saw neat wildlife despite the highly-traveled trail - starting with the cute girl who sells bread at the farmer's market. Also saw an inchworm (hey they're neat!), a teenaged deer with fuzzy small antlers who seemed to be begging for food (avoided but at a delay), and a bear! Barely saw the bear, but since I was with a bear-magnet it's predictable. Unfortunately Kel didn't see the bear, but she did get a photo of a bigger-than-expected paw print. Sad part was seeing a family of really cute baby skunks...crossing the road...after one was just mooshed by a father with his family in a station wagon. He was well-meaning but didn't think much - he took a stick and moved the body out of the road...but to the other side of the road. If mommy didn't know he was dead, she was probably going to cross again. So cute and sad, mostly sad. Yay I saw baby skunks, boo one of them looked like a hackey-sack with a tail.

Tons more to say, no time. Also unfocussed.

You made your own? That's what I'm doing, but I still don't really ahve time to both drill and study...kiling myself to try. You're right though - there needs to be serious memorization.

If you use Firefox, take a look at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 to block the ads...

One can't help it if one is attractive to big, hairy guys.
