Had a wonderful long weekend, but the vacation has vacated. My bastard lawyer friends were not kidding about that bar mess. I was recently given the advice "Do everything they say." Had no idea what this meant, until I read the schedule and saw the insane workload for before and after class - suddenly that 7-8 hours makes sense, and since I'm not so smart it will take me longer to get that stuff done. I've just read about 150 pages of property, which incorporates what I took as property and a lot of wills/trusts. It goes far more in depth than my school class, with no cases, and uses latin and complex archaic terms to make it even more annoying. I'm in for a lot of work these next 2 months.
But it is 2 months and then I'm done, or have failed the bar.
People that say "I'm sure you'll do well" are morons and will be stabbed in the face with a fork. The person in the best position to judge how I will do is I, who is worried. I'm going to start drilling the next person who tells me they are confident...based on what? Did you take the exam, and if not, what does your knowledge of it come from? How familiar are you with my legal knowledge, reading speed and comprehension, and testing ability? Have you monitored my progress in law school and generalized that information to the bar exam, and why do you feel better suited to judge that relation than myself? stoofoo! Your empty words of encouragement serve no positive effect here.
EDIT - on the other hand, "I hope you do well," or "Good luck," are fine things to say. It's not that I reject support or words of encouragement, just the ones that don't make any sense.
The scale now says I've lost about 5 lbs, but only 1% body fat. I'm just now at the point where I blow through boxing without really getting tired, so it's taken me about 3 weeks to recover from the lack of regular enough exercise. While I'm sad the next 2 months will cut my physical program, I know that by fall I'll be able to reform myself to a good fitness level.
Still no grades up from my exams. Our school seems to have the slowest turnaround time of any law school. They so suck.
