I'm thinking of cutting down my f-list since I’m so busy I miss a lot of good posts from my good friends. I haven't used a filter in years. So first I thought I'd just use people I knew in person, but some I haven't met do great writing. Then I figured I could limit to those that post their own writings instead of polls, but that still leaves the meme whores. So now I'm thinking of cutting down to my very good friends, you know, that I've slept with. That might bring it down to about 20 or so.

Last night Jen and I forwent the superbowl tradition of shopping during the game, and instead watched Pan's labyrinth. This was a very dark fantasy movie. I mean it had fairies, but was set in a realistic fascist Spain. It also, surprisingly to me, had subtitles - but if you don't like subtitles, I wouldn't let that keep you from watching this movie - they weren't bad as it's a very visual movie. It would have sucked if they dubbed the voices, but interestingly I knew just enough spanish to notice they sometimes translated in such a way that you lost some of the impact of the words (sunshine from brilliant sun). The visual imagery is gorgeous - not pretty, but interesting. The characters are all interesting - it's borderline good guys bad guys, but the characters were complex. There are a lot of real scenes of absolute human horror, and some fantasy horror that is pretty graphic. I left the movie reeling, and highly recommend it. Warning - very not a happy movie. You can find a happy ending in it, but you can find otherwise as well.

Remember that B&W photo of all the "supermodels" where they were all naked, wrapped around each other, and vulnerable looking? Well, I was thinking of redoing that photo with a bunch of my ex's. That way, everyone else can see what I think about when I masturbate.

If you can get a bunch of your ex's naked, in the same room, much less wrapped around each other...wow...that would go far, far beyond a little Labyrinth action. Of course, and I'll be crass enough to say it, the years have not been uniformly kind to my ex's so such an image might not be as...stimulating as the concept alone.

This image clearly does not stand up to reality testing, never mind the ones that might not like each other. Truth being, if many read this I wouldn't dare say something so offensive. I suspect at least 3 might immediately say "oh that bitch" (now are they referring to me or someone else)? Of course, a couple would probably start contemplating...and still call me a creep. Wouldn't blame 'em, either. But it's worth the joke.

definitelyl worth the joke. I always thought it would be easier to get them all to dress up like the Robert Palmer girls...but the image never lasts, it then shifts into a montage of NIN-meets-Cabaret, before becoming a cyberpunk cabaret. Hmm....maybe for my next milestone bday party, in ten years, a full-on themed costume event...in someplace-not-my-place. Why is it pertinent? See how many ex's you can get together at one time, dressed up, in costume...and then send in the clowns.

I'm so glad you liked Pan's Labyrinth. There is hope for you yet! Knowing a bit of Spanish (not that I always paid attention), I thought the translation was good. By no means was it a literal translation, but actually well done at trying to maintain the essense of what was originally said (my humble and untrained opinion).

Um, I guess you haven't done the photo yet because my phone hasn't rang (ha, ha, ha).
