I admit it - I'm left enough that I want to vote for Obama and Clinton just becuase together they make a black woman. I don't know enough about either, though I've heard several favorable comments. I'm tempted to vote for either because 1) race/sex, 2) notBush. Before the primaries, I will have researched their records and stated views. Ignorant is fine - reactionary is dangerous.

Yesterday I had to ride the shuttle to DC for a conference that never happened - lovely waste of 8 hours pay for 5 GS-14s. The entire trip this dumb hen of a woman clucked about support the president, I hate Clinton, Obama has nothing, support have to support...for 45 minutes straight. She's in budget - a real holdup for anything you need to do, and no matter what the questions are her answer is resolute: because we've always done it this way, this is how we do it...she can't make the leap to "why." She's the other type of momentum voter. Don't be either.

The speech? Why bother commenting? Speeches are for people who don't read the news, and you read the internet. Let the flyover states worry about the words they use - focus on what they do and hold them accountable.

Ok - one laughable is this president, the defender of the destroyer of the environment, now talking about a gas use reduction. Come on...even flyover state folks will see through that change in rhetoric, right?

She's such a TRAMP!

I'm still rediscovering TKK's I see good/bad spirits. My god...I love this album. While I'm one of the few who likes the cheese they descended into, it's not clear to me why they stopped being so good.

In other news, do you need to believe in god to be quaker?
EDIT Nope, they are very freak friendly and sometimes even agnostic. However, plain dress? Oh dear...

I could be wrong, but I think you just need to believe in earthquakes.

The funny thing about Hillary is, she is pretty much a Right Democrat what with her support of the war in Iraq and i-can't-provide-substantiation-but-vaguely-remember-all-kinds-of-instances love of special big business interests. But republicans? Hate her. I think that's because they are ashamed that a blonde woman could do a better job selling the country out to energy and defense sector interests than any good old boy they could put in the white house.

Currently, Obama has a massive lead in my potentially-voting-for based solely on the awesomeness of his appearance on Wait Wait. I know I should have some respect for the power of the executive branch, and I kind of do, but mostly I want someone who can carry on intelligent (and funny!) conversation with intelligent (and funny!) people and generally make my country look good in international talks/appearances. I wish I could have higher standards.

I wish those were realistic standards for electable politicians.
