I just returned from an awesome workout at Gold's, to see a man talking to an Arlington cop in my driveway. Turns out his car was broken into by smashing the window this weekend. He was parked right where I confronted the guy Saturday night.

i would not hesitate to defend what you did by confronting that thuggy asshole, but i feel compelled to mention that yes, it's true most stereotypes exist for a reason, but that reason is that usually, when somebody says that, nobody speaks up against it. stereotypes by definition are ignorant and oversimplified to try and lump people into categories more simplistic and shallow than can even be applied to more intelligent animals, let alone human beings. your description of the entire scene made it obvious that you weren't responding to a stereotype (brown=criminal) but the entire situation and a ton of visual cues that something was not right. to boil it all down to the thuggy hispanic guy's dress and race being the only reason you responded discredits your own inutition and observational skills.

now i'll got cram my heart back into my chest and quit bleeding everywhere...:P
