I drove in today, at my usual mellow pace. I watched a solo guy in a SUV make a right on red from the 2nd lane. He and several others sped down the road - racing to get to work I guess. It's hysterical watching people gun their engines to be the first one to reach the next red light. Then...I see people sitting outside the office in their cars reading or with the radio on. You race to work, then you delay as much as humanly possible to avoid giving one extra moment of your life? Alone in a huge car, a sport vehicle that never leaves the city highway, rushing to be the first to have to stop, showing up early then trying to come in late...wow. The world is full of children who spend more time arguing why they shouldn't have to clean their room...

Jen was right - I need to do more leg work in the gym. I'm feeling it today, and my strength was down. I can't just ride off my old work. You learn how to work out. You learn how to study. You learn to learn - no skill lasts forever, everything atrophies without work. When you're not striving you're depreciating. Still, with what time? I'm supposed to increase my bench, legs and core, cardio without gettin shin splints, while working and going to law school...oh yes, and having fun and relaxing enough?

A thank you to everyone that is reading this. I'm glad that I can entertain you with my ramblings. I appreciate the comments, both here and in person. I also appreciate those who read and don't say a word.

i like your ramblings. Your dry sense of humor makes me laugh.

Also, you increase my vocab. And keep me quasi-aware of what's going on in the world. Oddly enough, I don't have time to read the news! Christ.

I've only recently discovered how much sprints KILL me on cardio. They're friggin awesome. That reminds me I need to do that more! Thx

I'm just picking up the squats again, keeping the deadlifts in mind.

I am, as they say, madly in anger at cardio. Hate it. I hear most people do tho.

This is how I got hooked on boxing, and why I fight shin splints with running. Running isn't dull, but it hurts and is bad for you. Treadmills are living death though...sure they're inside and less impact, but for fuck's sake they're DULL. Bikes inside? Eliptical? The only thing that makes them bearable are the simpsons with teleprompting.

It's bad enough trying to stay panting and in pain that long, but to throw in boredom and yeah...cardio sucks.

The treadmill is only bearable if there's a really good "Oprah" on...but it's not like I'm willing to run outside. Ew.

I used to do the elliptical while watching Star Trek, but then I went through them all, so I stopped. I run, but I'm gonna need something to listen to, because it gets old real fast for me, and apparently my everpresent stubborn tummyfats isn't inspiration enough.

Then again, my "Running" tends to turn into "stumbling and gasping" after about 15 minutes, so I have a ways to go.
