Announcement: I am a conservative christian heterosexual republican.
Now, nothing has changed. I still hold my educated views. I don't go to church. I am still lovah of da cock. I will almost never vote for any republican candidate nor share their views.

So why the announcement? Identity.
People wonder why BushCo is able to violate law after law and "get away with it." While the country was ready to impeach Clinton for lying about cheating on his wife, Bush and crew lied about terrorism, started a war, profited privately from the war, made illegal wiretaps, exposed opponents undercover officer, got caught on tape hearing briefings that NO levees would break after saying they never heard such a thing...the list goes on and on. BUT - the same people who hated Clinton call you satan for daring to question Bush.

Why? Fidelity trumps national security, human lives, conflict of interest, and privacy rights? Fear of terrorism? No.
Identity outweighs action; is more important than substance.
I've met a bunch of so-called conservatives that support choice, don't care about what gays do (except the conservative gays), are comfortable with minorities, and like to spend (mostly receive) Federal dollars. I've found almost no self-identified xtians go to church or share more than 50% of the political views of their affiliation. I've found hetero-identified people have by and large at least experimented with same-sex frolics. I'm also finding ethical and rational republicans.

The problem is, if you're a liberal atheist gay democrat, no one cares what you say. As a self-identified member of any of those groups, your opinion is discarded. You're wrong because you have the wrong title. Liberal is a dirty word - it means you want to molest children and let criminals commit repeated violent crimes against pretty white virgins. Atheists can't be trusted. Anyone that doesn't use the word "gay" for "lame" is just wrong. Democrats just suck - we don't know why, but it seems like everyone makes fun of them. Hell, stating your view is more likely to make people who similarly held the view change their view just to avoid being associated with you. Those hippie protesters? Anything they touch is probably going to drop in the polls based on association with their spoiled ignorant smelly weird-looking asses.

So, I'm switching sides titles. My views will be received by a receptive audience, and considered on their merits. If they don't agree, they won't reject me or the opinion with any real force because; after all, we're basically the same. I mean not everyone is a Braves fan, right? As long as we root for a team we can all get along and argue about minutia, but if you didn't like the sport you'd just be some kind of freak.

You liberal pussies will still accept me because you're patient and understanding enough to listen to what I have to say and find we're saying the same thing.

Thank you for articulating the worldview of my 18,29, and 20 year old students, one of whom said that "Augustus was weak because he wouldn't stand up and use the title Emperor. He just used the gay title Princeps." For those not up on their Augustus, this guy would have made Reagan look cock-eyed liberal and Bush seem like a Nader-green. But gee...its all about the title, right?

The republican party was infiltrated by a cult of personality a good while ago.
