Does anyone have a power supply for a Dell Inspirion 1100 I can borrow? Mine died last night. I went online to order one from dell, because I'm an idiot. The thing was $50 (on sale!). I chose 3-5 day shipping because a classmate thought he could grab one at work. I got a prompt email from Dell telling me my power cord would be shipped on December 5. A friggin power cord.

So I run into the guy who was going to try to get me the cord, and it turns out they don't buy inspirion laptops because they keep changing parts - including the power cord. To be completely cliché, they switched from square to round cords, so I am litterally stuck trying to put a round peg in a square hole. Icing on the cake: I can get the thing for $20 on ebay here, but I'm not allowed to buy/shop while at work because if I spend 30 seconds of valuable government time and bandwidth god will hate america.

EDIT - got one on loan, will eBay later.

Radio shack might have a cord -- they sell this thing called "iGO" which is basically a power cord with interchangeable prongs.

And that would inspire the rain of frogs and fire, wouldn't it? And do you want that on your conscience? So really, they're doing you a favor...

i bought stuff on govt. computers all the time. fuck them.

ya know, I had a Dell laptop at one time, an Inspiron and a Latitude, and I know I came across an old power supply that I had had an extra of, pretty sure its that kind. I will try to remember to look when I get home. If I still have it and its the right kind, its yours. Can't remember your address though (I should be able to, hell I lived there for almost a year!), email it to me Hidntruth@gmail.com.

Don't sweat it - I got one as a loaner and have another in the mail. Email is this name, add a z on the end, at yahoodotcom

ok, cool, I will stick the power supply back in the bottom of the storage box I found it in...now how will I ever manage to reapply all that protective dust? hehe
