I went to bed early, woke up at 3:30 and proceeded to worship Adult Swim. They followed Big O with a B&W cartoon called "Giganto" which was a cross between speed racer and big O. Kinda takes the steam out of your fascination when you realize that Japan has been redrawing the same concept for 50 years. Anyone else remember Jhonny Sokko and his flying robot?

So the elections didn't turn out so badly nationwide. TX did something horrible - no shock, CA ignored the Gubornator, Jersey went dem, and Maine did some neat gay stuff. VA results were mixed, no shock. Hope this is a reflection of the congressional races to come.
I had an epiphany in the gym yesterday - if I stopped working out and eating healthy today, I'm still proud that I was this fit at 37. Dood, I'm friggin 37. I can't believe I live this life, have this body, do these things...I don't know what I expected, but this is beyond many things I might have predicted. I am not about to stop - hell I was sharing my revelation with Lori who discussed general health problems avoided when you're fit. I forget that, as I am used to being in this kind of shape. I am living twice as much as someone that huffs when they go up 4 stairs. Perhaps I'm really 74.
I'm still too busy to write much.

Date: 2005-11-09 02:39 pm (UTC)I've tried giving it a watch over the past couple weeks, aminly froma historical point. The villain "The Spider" has the voice and many of the mannerisms of The Monarch from Venture Brothers.

Date: 2005-11-09 02:39 pm (UTC)Although, perhaps you aren't the best inspiration. Maybe I should look to those people who huff and puff after 4 steps for my real inspiration. The people I don't want to be. Either way, tell me all your secrets and I'll follow them perfectly.

Date: 2005-11-09 02:56 pm (UTC)I like your idea - inspired by those that do AND those that don't. I wasn't this fit at 23 (though I did kinda work out - I just didn't do it as much or have as much understanding). I know when I was getting really serious about it, I saw this white-haired man in the government worker gym. He was in incredible shape. I decided that someday I want to be that old guy, that old guy that you look at and go "Holy fuck!" It's like he wasn't old at all (the attitude helps too). Similarly there is an 80something year old azn woman in my area who does ballet, yoga, and other hokey stuff - and I only recently found out her age. I thought she was like 55.
Tivo or tape that puppy - cartoons are the best things on TV!

Date: 2005-11-09 05:38 pm (UTC)Ah, Johnny Socko...youthful obsession second only to Ultraman (which, of course, led me to the hard stuff, like Godzilla). I've only recently discovered CN playin' Gigantor at oh-dark-thirty. I love them old 'uns. They have such a gloriously goofy soul to 'em. Also my inspiration! (..Bigger than big, stronger than strong...).
Happy 37, young beefcake!
