In other news, I saw an article this AM about how studies show that while kids are doing less XTC, the danger now is that they are taking their parent's prescription medicines to get high.
1) that's funny
2) kids get high, fucking duh. Why do adults forget what they did as kids? Why do they hold others to different standards than they those to which they were held?
3) PUNCHLINE! The kids are getting high the same way their parents do! Gee, why is it there are so many prescription drugs to get high on? The parents are high as hell, only they allegedly have "adult" reasons to get high. I call bullshit! The parents are high because...they wanna get high. The pharmaceutical companies have succeeded in cornering the natural biological urge to get high (catnip anyone?) and making it cost more. It's socially acceptable to get high if you just pay enough, but beware the poor crackhead who gets high w/o paying the proper authorities!

I tried to look for the article I saw on the news this AM and kept running into references to a program called "Teenscreen" allegedly by the republican administration to force all kids to take a psyc test before graduating high school. Compelling, but I could find no evidence to prove the allegations true. Perhaps it'll show up on snopes, but I only found it on these private sites:
