Now that I've had time to think about it and solicit many professional's opinions, I'm thinking of dropping out of the 'race' for the ethics position. It's really pathetic that they failed to make a decision. If they wanted me, I have 3 college degrees working on a 4th and supervisory experience, an outstanding perf appraisal...many things they could use to pick me. She is thinking of getting her first degree, has worked her way up from inside, and has worked the position already. Actually, when I think about it, while I like the girl and think she's a hard worker, I'm not sure on what level they consider us a close call. This might be her only shot at a 14, while I have many such opportunities (most of which I don't apply to - maybe they're mad at me). Of course, the liability now is that it looks bad if I drop out of the race, but this shit has been very demoralizing - not just to me but everyone that's heard about it is disgusted, including management officials.

In other news, Americans aren't the fattest people in the world after all.

"I would like all people to know that I do believe that this is the Virgin Mary Mother of God"
Now I'm not a religious man, but wasn't Mary not a Virgin (that virginity is the common misconception when in fact JEBUS had brothers, but 'his' conception was called immaculate since she hadn't banged her husband at any point that could make him daddy?) and further, I'm pretty sure she wasn't God's mommy.

First off, I had no idea you had *3* degrees! Holy shit, man! :)

Based on what you've said, it should have been hands down no contest on who to pick. You obviously have worked your ass off and deserve it. Shame on them.

They're not real degrees though. One is a BA in psyc, the other a MA in Industrial and Organizational Psyc. Then I inexplicably picked up an AA in info sys (was thinking of getting a MA there). Then when the tech market died I started law school.

Well, I could be a moron or something, or hated. It's just that we're both liked - I think they're trying to please everyone, and what they've done is pissed everyone off. It's...very...odd.

I don't really care about who they pick - she's DONE the job before, so she could hit the ground running. I'm only pissed they failed so miserably in making a decision at all. I don't mind no, I mind wait 4 months.

Quit demeaning yourself, they are real degrees. You worked for them, you earned them, they're yours...and they're real. :)

The brothers bit is hotly contested, but the official line was that she was a virgin when Jesus was born. The immaculate conception was not Jesus, but was Mary herself: she was concieved without original sin so she could be worthy to bear God's son. And yes, she was God's mother since Jesus and God are really the same.

And now you know.

Well, whether Jesus had brothers or not can never be exactly known, but honestly, how much sense does it make for Joseph not to want to start nailing (haw haw) his wife? I'm sure they had plenty of sweet lovin'. Just kinda follows, I guess.

Catholic tradition has it that jospeh was quite old when her married Mary, and past his nailin' days. likewise, it holds that the brothers were his children from a previous marriage.

I apologize for the lack of capitalization above. I wasn't trying to be e.e. cummings. The Shift key on my keyboard at home seems to be dead.

Jebus (Hebrew: יבוס) was the original name of Jerusalem, home of the Jubusites, before it was conquered by the Israelites.

Cheesy
