Nothing to say but I feel obligated to post...why?

Made iced tea from Trader Joe's Earl Grey/orange...it seems it's not meant for large vats of iced tea. I've been using Lipton. I'm tea ignorant, but think it's less silly than diet soda. The stuff is pretty good now that I double/tripled up the bags. It's more than double the price - and it's from Trader Joes. Odd thing was each friggin bag was wrapped in plastic - pretty environmentally unfriendly from the hippie store.

I'm not half-way through the semester and I'm burned out from school. This shit is really dragging me down (fuck verbosity). I'm trying to remember that there is no point to doing well, and not set myself up for more failure, but I can't seem to stop trying. Failing seems not to demotivate me, but it's a highly predictable result to my efforts (given my definition of failing).

Being it's Trader Joe's, the plastic is probably biodegradeable... however, if I were to recommend anything for iced tea (and I know iced tea) it has to be the family sized Lipton Cold Brew tea bags. Best invention since sliced bread.

I was using the lipton stuff originally, but wondered if the other stuff would be better. I'm not sure...I think I got hot brew stuff, but i'll keep an eye out for the other. Cold brew...doesn't sound like Tea, eh?

If your are fond of orange flavor, Bigelow's Constant Comment tea (orange spice) can be found at any grocery store. One of the Constant Comment tea bags and 2 regular Luzianne (made for iced tea is their motto) make for an awesome iced tea. They used to serve it at the American Cafe a long time ago.

I'm not fond of Lipton's cold brew, it has an odd flavor to me. It is easy to use, though. :)

I'm easy but I like oranges. Hmm, a dilemma!

I love oranges but don't like most flavored tea...especially when it's iced. So I learned a little trick years ago from [livejournal.com profile] mkblack:

After you put the hot water over the tea bags, cut a giant orange into slices and put slices (peel & all) into the pitcher and let steep for an hour or 2, then you can remove the oranges. It's good hot too!

The only brand I will use for iced is - lipton, the "cold brew" is good for iced tea.

i am pretty sure they individually wrap each bag in plastic because tea that is exposed to oxygen goes stale very quickly, especially when it is finely ground, like it is for use in bags...
i personally am a loose leaf girl...
put it in a coffee filter like you would coffee.... brew a strong pot, put it in a big pitcher and dilute to taste w/ cold water... easy, and the tea tastes better because it is fresher
