Vote, please vote, and don't let the polls sway you!

Polls might not be reflecting this election - think about it:
Most polls are based on phone calls. There was a famous election poll fiasco when the telephone was new - telephone polls predicted one winner when a landslide on the other side occurred. Why? Only the rich had phones at that time - and the poor had someone else in mind.

Who answers the phone anymore? How many people do you know that are 100% cell/blueberry? Who do you know that doesn't use caller ID, block, and not answer any calls that might be from telemarketers? There is a school of thought coming out that polling might be in a period similar to when phones first became normal, that now as pollers are rejected along with other spam that they can no longer predict results accurately. As I noted, if you let arguments degenerate into who is best able to lead the sheep with cheap emotional pull-strings, the battle is not over who is right based on facts and logic. Notice that dirty hippies are an emotional pull-string to sway middle-america away from causes they support. If hippies really wanted to change opinions, they'd cut their hair, look clean, hell wear suits, and not disrespect the flag. I fully support their right to do what they wish, but don't lie and say you're trying to change public opinion.

There is a quote from a mangy looking guy in this preview where he says "I'd sooner vote for a single-celled organism than GW Bush." Well, can't say I disagree with what they're saying...

Yup. It's easier to change the system from within the system.

Well they could be outside the system - normally it's a whole belief system blah blah. It's just that by acting like idiots and alienating the audience they're supposed to be conveying their message to, they cannot seriously want to change the issues they protest.

actually I agree with you. Though I also have always felt that if what you want is to seriously change things, you have to do a little bit more then just protest. So if all they're doing is protesting it doesn't really matter how they look. It's just useless shouting and sign waving.

members of PETA tend to be really big offenders when it comes to acting like idiots and undermining their cause.

Yeah - there are so many other perfectly reasonable animal rights groups, but those nutjobs get all the press and ruin the movement. I have more experience with them than most - as I used to work at a photolab that processed their film. Processing their film I both gained and lost respect for them. The issues were real, that much is even more apparent when you see the pictures in chronological order.

They have a great cause to support, but their extremism ruins it.

I completly agree. I have found it so frustrating. They have so much to say, but who is going to listen when so many of their members conduct themselves the way they do? I imagine processing their film must of been pretty hard, i can't imagine.
