I'm absolutely sick they killed (or say they killed) those female Italian aid workers. They went to do fucking charity, and were kidnapped and killed. What is worse, people doing this or the huge numbers that allow them to ferment in their culture - tolerating them, allowing them, and some supporting them.
It's hard not to bend to the logic of "while all muslims are not terrorists, all terrorists are muslim." It's not accurate, but it's a really tight generality. How long ago was the IRA and McVeigh? You lean toward generalizations when frustrated that there isn't a visible enemy to fight.
I made comparisons to on-line trolls and terrorists a long time ago. We now have middle-eastern truth to that (in a whole different league). Terrorists take pleasure in causing others grief, and use the internet to do it.

Date: 2004-09-23 12:07 pm (UTC)Wel, considering more than one-fifth of the world's population are Muslim, and the percentage of those living in poverty or under tyrrany is probably a lot higher, it shouldn't be surprising that a lot of terrorists are Muslim. Of the State Department's list of foreign terrorist organizations it considers "active", less than half are Muslim, and several of those are more secular, nationalist groups. There are as many Marxist groups on the list as Islamist.
Now, I would say that most of the terrorists who seem to have a generalized, absolute hatred for tthe US and anyone associated with it are Muslim, but that's because we haven't invaded any countries in South America in a while...
