WARNING - there is a Federally-paid initiative plugging 'drunk driving enforcement' this weekend (last weekend too, canal exiting DC had a roadblock).

Drunk driving checkpoints everywhere! Remember - in DC DUI is at the discretion of the officer. It's not .08, .10, .04...it's anything. .01 can be dui in DC at the discretion of the officer.

That's utterly fucked. But after last night at Alchemy, I'm really thinking I need to go back to going out to dance, instead of going out to drink. Going out to dance never left me queasy the next day.

Nope - it's used on minors too by the way. People under 21 are often held with any bac - .01 is enough for them. It's absurd.

I don't know how often or much its enforced. I've had pretty good luck with DC cops, but not the capital police (they're in this weird land between real cops and rent-a-cops, and the not-a-cop thing makes them nuts)
